Pictavia is a four star hands-on attraction depicting the history and heritage of the ancient Celtic race that inhabited Scotland during the first millennium AD.
Through touch screen inter-actives, tactile exhibits as well as games, you will discover the mystery of what happened to the Picts from the jubilant battle at Dunnichen where they thwarted the Northumbrians through cunning planning and execution to understanding their use of written language by solving the cyber symbols game.
These 1st Millennium settlers in Angus fashioned monolithic standing stones and carved them with animals, objects and abstract designs, quite unlike anything else found in Britain and Europe, at Pictavia you can examine, touch and understand more about these mysterious stones that to this day watch over the landscape all around the county.

Pictavia is set within Brechin Castle Centre; there is a whole day of entertainment, from a miniature railway, walks and summer activities. The Castle Centre houses a gift shop, gardens centre and a popular restaurant, which can easily cater for groups.
